Holding On Letting Go

What difference will you make?

Helping out at the Holding On Letting Go Parent/Carer Bereavement Support Groups which run over several weekends a year. You would be assisting our Parent/Carer Facilitator with group discussions and therapeutic work.

We are offering an opportunity to co-facilitate bereavement support workshops for parents and carers. You will be offering coping strategies to each parent/carer so that they can support themselves and their child/children with the bereavement. This will make a huge impact on the whole family. We know significant bereavements can disrupt children's development and with your help our programme can give comprehensive support for the whole family.

What are we looking for?

Ideally you would have experience in either working in bereavement, adult counselling or adult therapy. Empathy and good listening skills are essential.

What will you be doing?

Holding On Letting Go run Parent/Carer Bereavement Support Groups whilst their children are attending one of our bereavement support weekends. We offer the Parent/Carers bereavement support for themselves as well as advice on how to support a grieving child in the home. The groups are held mainly held in Sittingbourne but we do have two in Sevenoaks and one in Broadstairs each year. We provide free training, pay mileage and provide food and refreshments.
