Our client is an established, international food related (FMCG) manufacturer based in the Thetford area. The company has 8 manufacturing operations in the UK and Europe and is one of the leading manufacturers in its field with an annual turnover of £40 million, employing a loyal, dedicated and motivated team of around 80 staff.
Position Overview
We are looking for a Multi‑skilled Shift Engineer to join our engineering team of six (4 on 4 off, 12 hour shifts). Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will work across the site to provide reactive and planned preventative maintenance, maintain various production machinery, fault find both electrically (PLC faultfinding) and mechanically, and assist in installing new machinery. This role offers excellent salary, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, contributory pension, employee discount, 4× life assurance and discounted gym membership.
Responsibilities
- Provide both reactive and planned preventative maintenance.
- Maintain a variety of production machinery including conveyors, packaging equipment, weighing machinery, bagging machinery, labeling equipment, and ovens.
- Fault find both electrically and mechanically.
- Assist in the installation of new machinery.
Requirements
- Multi‑skilled maintenance engineering experience.
- Relevant mechanical/electrical qualifications.
- Strong fault finding ability both electrically and mechanically.
- Experience working within a relevant factory environment.
