Working as part of a dynamic team, the role takes sole charge responsibility for all of the financial activities that facilitate the smooth running of the business and add value through insightful financial information. It will be a 12-month contract to cover for a well-established employee and timing affords a thorough handover.
The principal responsibilities will be:
- Producing monthly management accounts including P&L, Balance Sheet and variance analysis against budgets and forecasts
- Preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts
- Collection and data capture of project hours by direct employees on all current and ongoing projects driving project performance and margin
- Month end journal preparation including accruals/prepayments
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Quarterly VAT returns
- Credit control
- Maintaining cash book and bank reconciliations
- Weekly Cash flow forecasting
- Processing all supplier invoices and raising sales invoices
- Process credit card payments and staff expenses
- Ensuring that all invoices, expenses & journals are input correctly onto Xero accounts system
- To produce ‘flash’ information as requested by the Directors and Management
Suitable candidates will be experienced at producing management and financial accounting, ideally with knowledge of a project orientated business. Exposure to Xero or another cloud-based accounting package with highly competent Excel skills are desirable. As a stand-alone finance individual, you will need to be self-motivated and resourceful, with the ability to multi-task in a small business environment.
