The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Plant Operative to join our OCL team at Micheldever. This is a full-time, site-based role where no two days are the same. Working within a close-knit operational team, you’ll play a key part in supporting the recycling and production process across our aggregate and construction waste operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, thrives in a fast-paced operational environment and is looking to build a long-term career with future progression opportunities. We are focused on developing people who want to grow, learn new skills and become future successors within the wider operation. Whether you already have experience operating plant machinery or are looking to expand your skillset, training and support can be provided. The role is Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 17:00, with opportunities for overtime during weekends and nights. You may also occasionally support at other depot locations when required.
What You'll Be Doing
- Operating the weighbridge and accurately recording materials entering and leaving site
- Supporting recycling operations including crushing, screening and mixing materials
- Operating plant machinery such as loading shovels and excavators (training available)
- Coordinating logistics, booking haulage and maintaining accurate records and paperwork
- Welcoming visitors, contractors and customers while supporting safe and efficient site operations
Who you are
- You have experience working within an operational, industrial, aggregates, recycling or similar site environment
- You enjoy being part of a small team and are happy supporting across different areas when needed
- You are organised, safety conscious and comfortable completing paperwork and using computer systems
- You have good communication skills and are confident interacting with drivers, visitors and customers
