We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Fitter to join our maintenance team at Torr Works, our flagship super quarry in the heart of Somerset. This is your chance to work on large-scale, heavy-duty industrial equipment in a dynamic and fast-paced environment that’s unlike anywhere else. Torr Works is one of the largest quarries in the country – a critical hub for construction materials nationwide.
- Diverse kit: From crushers and conveyors to fixed and mobile plant, you’ll work on a wide variety of advanced machinery and infrastructure.
- Carrying out planned maintenance and repairs across site equipment to maintain performance and extend asset life.
- Responding quickly and safely to plant breakdowns, implementing both temporary fixes and permanent solutions.
- Using your technical skills in welding, cutting, and fabrication to support the integrity of our machinery and operations.
- Supporting a culture of safety and excellence, helping to improve and document maintenance procedures and working practices.
A Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Mechanical Maintenance (or similar). Solid experience as a Fitter, with proven skills in welding, fabrication, and fault-finding. A good grasp of engineering drawings, maintenance planning, and health & safety best practices.
