The Opportunity
At Holcim UK, we’re building progress for people and the planet, and we’re looking for a Surfacing Supervisor to join our contracting team. This is a key site-based role responsible for overseeing operations, leading teams and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. This role offers the chance to take ownership of day-to-day site operations, leading teams of operatives and foremen across a variety of projects. You’ll be at the centre of delivery, ensuring that work is planned effectively, resources are in place and productivity targets are achieved. You’ll also play a key role in developing your team, supporting training and progression while maintaining a strong safety culture and high standards of workmanship across all activities.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Ensuring all works are carried out safely in line with Health & Safety legislation and company standards.
- Supervising site teams, including foremen and operatives, to deliver works in line with programme and specification.
- Planning and coordinating workloads to meet contract targets and optimise productivity.
- Ordering materials and plant in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Managing plant and equipment to ensure correct use, maintenance and availability on site.
- Maintaining accurate site records, including measurements, progress and operational data.
- Liaising with customers, client representatives and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Supporting the measurement and valuation of works alongside commercial teams.
- Driving continuous improvement and identifying opportunities for innovation on site.
- Carrying out site inspections and ensuring high standards of quality and workmanship.
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding and development of site operatives.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures across all site activities.
What You’ll Bring
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within construction, surfacing or civil engineering.
- Strong understanding of site operations, health & safety and quality standards.
- Ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve performance targets.
