About the Opportunity

Based in Brisbane, you will have operational responsibility for the Brisbane Concrete Business. You will lead the team of Area Operations Managers, managing the safe, efficient and cost‑effective operations of the plants, with a focus on maximising the performance of people, plant operations and fleet to meet Holcim operational standards whilst delivering the required customer service standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety standards are met through strong people leadership
  • Manage the daily operations with a focus on improvement
  • Drive customer relationships to ensure suitable outcomes
  • Control costs across plant and fleet
  • Demonstrate effective leadership to ensure a highly motivated team
  • Manage, develop, coach and support production supervisors, production officers, sub‑contractor drivers and other plant staff
  • Work closely with the Area Operations Managers and Production Supervisors to achieve the efficient and cost‑effective operation at all sites, that meets customer service requirements
  • Engage with all plant staff and drivers and provide strong leadership in the areas of health and safety, the environment, operations management, cost management and operational improvement

Qualifications

  • Hands‑on experience in construction related fields, preferably concrete and/or aggregates (5 years minimum)
  • Leadership experience in production and manufacturing related fields (ideally Concrete or Aggregates)
  • A degree in a related discipline (Engineering or Business Management) or extensive industry experience
  • Strong team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Understanding of the importance of and ability to effectively communicate and build relationships within the relevant Concrete business and across the wider Holcim business
  • Experience in SAP, Excel, Word
  • Customer focus, with the ability to cultivate relationships and build strong networks
  • Demonstrated business and financial acumen
