The Opportunity:

As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will lead and develop a team of Quantity Surveyors while ensuring consistent and accurate commercial reporting across multiple business areas. This role will see you working closely with operational leaders, estimators and delivery teams to maximise project performance and drive continuous improvement across the commercial function. You’ll also play an important role in strengthening commercial systems, improving reporting visibility and ensuring contracts are managed effectively to protect Holcim’s commercial interests.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Leading, mentoring and developing a team of Quantity Surveyors across multiple business units
  • Standardising commercial reporting to ensure accurate, consistent financial data for senior leadership
  • Acting as the final internal escalation point for complex commercial disputes, subcontractor negotiations and final accounts
  • Reviewing and improving commercial systems from project handover through to final account settlement
  • Driving the adoption of digital commercial tools and reporting systems to improve efficiency and visibility
  • Managing contract review processes in line with the Holcim commercial framework
  • Implementing strong subcontractor management and procurement protocols
  • Identifying underperforming projects and conducting detailed commercial reviews to develop recovery plans
  • Leading the commercial management of NEC and JCT contracts, including variations, compensation events and early warnings
  • Working closely with estimating teams to ensure lessons learned from project delivery feed into future bids
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and key clients to support successful project delivery

What You’ll Bring:

  • Significant experience in Quantity Surveying within civil engineering, infrastructure or construction environments
  • Proven leadership experience in a Managing or Senior Quantity Surveyor capacity, overseeing multiple projects or teams
  • Strong knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 and JCT contract forms
  • Demonstrable experience managing commercial risk, claims and dispute resolution
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to improve systems, processes and reporting frameworks
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong commercial awareness with a focus on driving margin and EBIT performance
