The Opportunity
As a leader in sustainable construction materials, we’re looking for an Asphalt Plant Manager/ Assistant Manager to take full ownership of site operations, driving performance, safety and continuous improvement across the plant. This is a key leadership role where you’ll be responsible for optimising production, developing your team and ensuring the site consistently delivers high-quality materials to our customers.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading the day-to-day operations of the asphalt plant, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant production.
- Promoting and embedding a strong Health & Safety culture, ensuring all activities align with company standards and legislation.
- Driving production performance, ensuring output, quality and on-time delivery targets are consistently met.
- Maximising plant efficiency by optimising processes, resources and asset utilisation.
- Monitoring plant performance and implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Managing and developing plant teams, including recruitment, training, performance management and engagement.
- Managing site budgets, costs and resources to ensure strong financial performance.
- Ensuring compliance with all quality standards, environmental requirements and operational procedures.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience in a Plant Manager or similar leadership role, ideally within asphalt, aggregates or a heavy industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of production, maintenance and operational management principles.
- Good knowledge of health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build, develop and motivate high-performing teams.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decisions and improvements.
- Ability to create accountability and lead by example.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- IT literacy and familiarity with operational systems.
- Minimum IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent).
