Working Monday to Friday on a rotating 7:00am-3:00pm and 9:00am-5:00pm shift pattern, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our finished products are safely stored, accurately loaded and delivered to customers on time. This is an excellent opportunity to join one of our flagship manufacturing sites, where high standards, teamwork and quality are at the heart of everything we do. As one of only two colleagues working within the yard operation, you'll have real ownership of your area, building strong relationships with drivers and colleagues while helping to maintain a safe, organised and efficient working environment. If you enjoy a hands-on role where no two days are the same and take pride in doing things the right way, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
- Safely load and unload finished concrete block paving products using a forklift truck and, following training, a loading shovel.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across the yard, ensuring all stock is stored safely and the site remains clean, tidy and organised.
- Carry out daily mobile plant inspections, reporting any defects promptly and ensuring equipment remains safe and available for use.
- Complete stock checks and support accurate inventory management, following stock rotation procedures where appropriate.
- Build positive working relationships with drivers, hauliers and colleagues, providing excellent service and ensuring vehicles are loaded accurately and efficiently.
Who you are
- You have previous experience operating a forklift truck within a yard, manufacturing or industrial environment and hold a valid FLT licence.
- You're dependable, organised and take pride in maintaining high standards of safety, housekeeping and customer service.
- You enjoy working as part of a small team and are happy taking ownership of your responsibilities while supporting colleagues when needed.
- You're confident communicating with drivers, hauliers and other site teams, building positive working relationships with a friendly and professional approach.
