The Opportunity:

We’re looking for a reliable and motivated Plant Operative to join a busy asphalt plant team at Sharpness. This is a permanent, site-based opportunity offering full training across all areas of the plant, making it ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, learning new skills, and being part of a supportive team. You’ll gain experience across the full production process, including asphalt mixing, loading operations, and weighbridge duties, with ongoing training provided from day one. Attitude and willingness to learn are the most important qualities for this role. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 06:00-15:00, plus Saturdays 06:00-09:00.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Operating and supporting different areas of the asphalt production plant, including mixing, loading, and weighbridge activities.
  • Carrying out routine plant checks, housekeeping duties, and basic equipment maintenance.
  • Loading and unloading materials safely while supporting the smooth running of daily plant operations.
  • Following health and safety procedures at all times to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Supporting colleagues across the site and learning new processes through ongoing training.
