At Holcim UK, we are looking for an experienced HGV Master Technician to join our team at our Thames Materials site. This is a hands-on role where you will play a key part in maintaining and improving the reliability of our vehicle fleet, supporting the growth and development of other HGV Mechanics on site.
We are looking for a skilled HGV Mechanic to work on a mixed fleet of tipper and grab trucks, carrying out everything from routine servicing through to diagnostics and MOT preparation work, ensuring all vehicles are safe, compliant and ready for operation.
You will be responsible for keeping our fleet operating efficiently, minimising downtime and ensuring all maintenance is completed to a high standard. As a senior member of the team, you will also support best practice across the workshop and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs across a fleet of tipper and grab trucks.
- Preparing vehicles for MOT inspections, ensuring compliance with all legal and safety standards.
- Completing both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repair work.
- Maintaining accurate service records, inspection sheets and maintenance documentation.
- Supporting fleet reliability by identifying recurring issues and recommending improvements.
- Ensuring workshop tools, equipment and working areas are maintained to a high standard.
Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic / HGV Technician, ideally in a similar fleet environment.
Strong knowledge of HGV maintenance, servicing and repair, including hydraulics and electrical systems.
Experience working on tipper and grab trucks - Experience working with Volvo and Scania trucks would be beneficial but not essential.
Solid understanding of MOT preparation and vehicle compliance standards.
A proactive and solution-focused approach to maintenance.
NVQ/City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
