The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Transport Manager (RMX - Ready Mix) to lead logistics performance across the West Midlands, driving improvements in safety, efficiency, cost, and customer service. As a critical part of our Readymix (RMX) supply chain, you’ll lead the execution of Holcim’s National Road Logistics strategy, manage key haulier relationships, and ensure the highest standards of compliance across our operations.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Act as the named Transport Manager on the Operators Licence, ensuring full legal and procedural compliance.
- Deliver against road logistics performance targets, including cost, safety, service, and sustainability.
- Manage haulier and vehicle standards across the region supporting onboarding, training, and consistent consequence management.
- Lead monthly safety briefings, engage hauliers professionally, and maintain a strong safety-first culture.
- Monitor and optimise fleet utilisation, TMS systems, and digital logistics tools.
- Collaborate with supply chain and operational teams to unlock synergies and reduce haulage costs.
- Manage supplier performance, incident resolution, and special service requests.
- Oversee vehicle off-road (VOR) scheduling and ensure garage SLAs are met.
- Support new hauliers through inductions, FORS accreditation, and MP Connect onboarding.
- Liaise with shipping and planning teams to improve load efficiencies and reduce hired vehicle reliance.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience in transport or logistics management, ideally within construction or industrial sectors.
- Hold a transport management licence (CPC).
- Comprehensive understanding of Operators Licence requirements, tachograph regulations, and relevant transport legislation.
- Strong leadership and communication skills - you’re someone who can coach, challenge, and support.
- Commercial awareness and a data-driven mindset - you can balance cost control with service quality.
- Experience working with transport systems (e.g. TMS, IVMS) and confident managing supplier relationships.
- A passion for continuous improvement, safety, and developing people.
