The Opportunity
Holcim are looking for a Mobile Plant Fitter at our Torr Works Super Quarry near Shepton Mallet working on a Monday to Thursday 12 hour night shift from 6-6, where you'll play a vital role in maintaining our large fleet of mobile plant equipment. As part of a supportive team of experienced fitters, you'll carry out essential reactive and preventative maintenance across a range of heavy vehicles, including excavators and dump trucks. If you're hands-on, safety-focused, and eager to work on high-value equipment in a dynamic environment, this is an ideal opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out reactive maintenance across a diverse fleet of over 30 mobile plant vehicles.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure machinery is operating at peak efficiency.
- Support project-based work to optimise equipment reliability and uptime.
- Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed in accordance with health and safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and hazard-free working environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and site management to resolve issues promptly.
Who You Are
You're a skilled and proactive Mobile Plant Fitter, ready to apply your technical knowledge in a large-scale, high-performance quarry setting. You're motivated to ensure equipment runs efficiently and safely, and enjoy solving mechanical challenges on a daily basis. Background as a Fitter or Mechanic in one or more of the following: Mobile Plant, HGVs, Forklifts, Military, or Agricultural equipment. Competent working with hydraulic systems and mobile plant maintenance. Familiar with safe working practices and committed to maintaining a zero-harm environment. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working without supervision or as part of a team in a large operational setting.
