The Opportunity
We are looking for a Customer Service Representative (CSR) to join our busy Readymix Concrete business area in Portsmouth. This is a fast-paced, customer-focused role where you will be responsible for coordinating customer orders and supporting the smooth delivery of ready-mix concrete from order through to completion. You will work closely with customers, plant managers and drivers to ensure orders are accurately processed and deliveries run efficiently.
- Taking and processing customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Providing customers with a professional and helpful service
- Pricing orders where required
- Liaising with plant managers to coordinate production and deliveries
- Communicating with drivers regarding delivery schedules and requirements
- Tracking delivery slots, orders and updates throughout the day
- Managing changes to orders and delivery requirements
- Keeping customers informed of delivery progress and any changes
- Working as part of a busy team to ensure a smooth and efficient service
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in a customer service, logistics, transport or delivery-focused environment
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- The ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple orders and priorities
- A confident and professional telephone manner
- Good IT skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly
- Experience working with deliveries, logistics, transport or customer service would be beneficial, but it is not essential. Full training will be provided for the right candidate.
