The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Plant Operator to join our team at our Asphalt plant in Purfleet. This role is fast-paced, dynamic, extremely varied and challenging, however also very rewarding for someone who enjoys working with other like-minded, hard working people. Plant operators operate and maintain machines and equipment in industrial plants or on construction sites. Key tasks range from operating the plant's control system, operating mobile plants and undertaking light maintenance tasks including housekeeping duties.
About the role
- Weighing vehicles in and out of our weighbridge and producing relevant documentation with correct order numbers in place.
- Mixing consistently excellent material using the Plant Computer.
- Carry out pre-start checks on fixed and mobile plant and ensure that it is safe to operate.
- To carry out routine maintenance including greasing / visual inspections as per the schedule.
- Operating the Loading shovel inclusive of fork attachments.

- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong IT literacy.
- Flexibility with work hours and willing to work weekends.
- The desire for training and willingness to learn.
- You will need to develop a sound appreciation of Health & Safety, housekeeping and environmental regulations.
- Asphalt experience is desirable.
- Experience driving a mobile and a fixed plant is a plus.
