Were now looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team, playing a vital role in keeping one of our busiest asphalt plants running safely and efficiently. This is an exciting chance to use your mechanical expertise on essential maintenance, problem-solving, and improvements across fixed plant, all while being part of a team that makes a real difference. Youll be based at Crawley but also support our wider South East Asphalt network , meaning no two days are ever the same. What youll be doing Carrying out routine maintenance, inspections, greasing and lubrication to keep fixed plant in top condition. Diagnosing, repairing, replacing, and reassembling mechanical components such as pumps, valves, gearboxes, and pipework. Responding quickly to plant defects and breakdowns, ensuring minimal downtime. Leading and planning preventative maintenance to support long-term plant reliability. Maintaining a safe, clean, and hazard-free working environment at all times. Collaborating with colleagues across different sites to ensure smooth and continuous operations. What were looking for A qualified and experienced Mechanical Fitter with experience in mechanical maintenance, ideally within asphalt or heavy industry. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A flexible, safety-first mindset able to adapt to shift changes or emergency breakdowns when required.
