The Opportunity
We have a new vacancy for a Night Plant Operative to join our team at our Asphalt plant based out of Botley, near Southampton. As our Plant Operative you will be responsible for controlling and coordinating the safe operation and production of the Asphalt plant and carrying out daily housekeeping tasks. Your main duty will be to operate the mobile plant (loading shovel and skidsteer) yard duties including banksman duties. There will be an opportunity to learn fixed plant operations as well.
What will you bring?
- A sound appreciation of Health & Safety, housekeeping and environmental regulations.
- Excellent communication and team working skills.
- Background in a quarry or asphalt environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
- Flexibility with work hours and willing to work weekend and night shifts.
- A detailed knowledge of operational procedures.
- A detailed knowledge of how the plant works and is maintained.
- Ability to understand written instructions and basic math.
- Mobile plant experience is desirable.
- Full driving license.
