The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Plant Operations Manager to lead operations at our Colemans Asphalt Plant, overseeing production, performance, and people. You’ll manage a 24/7 production site that produces over 100,000 tonnes per annum of Asphalt, supplying vital materials for key infrastructure projects across the South West. You’ll lead a small, skilled team to ensure safe and efficient operations. This is a hands‑on leadership role where your focus will be on maintaining the highest standards in health, safety, environment and quality while delivering operational and financial targets. With structured training, this role offers a fantastic opportunity for a people‑centric manager to step into this industry.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading daily operations to deliver site performance, safety, and environmental objectives.
  • Managing health, safety, and environmental compliance across the site.
  • Monitoring production plans, budgets, and fixed costs to meet site and business targets.
  • Supporting, developing, and motivating a team to deliver consistent results.
  • Maintaining site compliance with permits, audits, and quality management processes.
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including local authorities and the community.
  • Driving continuous improvement and implementing site improvement and training plans.

Who You Are

You have experience in a manufacturing, quarrying, or industrial environment, with a strong understanding of safety and operational excellence. You’re an effective leader or team supervisor ready to take the next step into site management. You understand production processes where raw materials go in and finished goods come out, and you can manage both people and performance in that setting. You’re organised, proactive, and able to balance operational detail with wider site strategy. You take pride in leading by example, engaging your team, and maintaining high standards in everything you do.

We are committed to building a diverse environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. You will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or age.
