We have an exciting new opportunity for a confident and highly motivated General Operative based out of our concrete block plant in Barton. As an Operative, you will be expected to operate manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently to maximise production. You will inspect, carry out and ensure that plant routines are regularly adhered to and that the cleanliness of the equipment, production area, adjacent buildings and storage areas are at all times properly and regularly inspected, cleaned and maintained in accordance with site instructions. You will operate as a member of a multi-skilled production team producing concrete products. The factory operates on a 24/5 rotating three shift pattern with possible overtime as and when required.

Requirements:

  • Highly motivated with drive and enthusiasm.
  • Able to work as part of a shift team.
  • Good aptitude to learn how to operate the production press, outfeed system and FLTs.
  • Experience operating forklift and counterbalance trucks.
  • Experience managing stock on the yard.
  • IT literacy as you will be dispatching using E1 software.
  • Excellent communication and team working skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Able to work on your own initiative.
  • Physically fit and capable of manual labour, including lifting and carrying 20kgs for short distances.
