We are looking for a Country House Supervisor to join our team — someone who loves hospitality, enjoys variety, and wants to take the next step in their career. This role combines guest relations with restaurant and bar service, giving you the chance to be involved in every part of the guest journey. You will help ensure our guests feel at home from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave, and work closely with the team to keep everything running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcoming guests and assisting with check-in and check-out
- Supporting breakfast and dinner service in our restaurant and bar
- Ensuring smooth daily operations and a consistently high standard of guest care
- Working with the team to deliver an exceptional and relaxed guest experience
- Contributing ideas and feedback to help evolve the services we offer
- Maintaining presentation standards throughout the house and restaurant

About Holbeck Ghyll
Nestled between the fells and the lake, Holbeck Ghyll is a beautiful 23-bedroom country house set on a private estate overlooking Lake Windermere. Known for our warm hospitality, stunning views, and excellent food, we offer guests a relaxing and memorable escape in the heart of the Lake District. Our team is small, friendly, and hands-on — we take pride in creating genuine experiences for our guests and value collaboration. Everyone plays a part in shaping how we do things, and great ideas are always welcome.
