The Mainframe Engineer (Z/OS Systems Programmer) is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of Mainframe systems and associated software environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and upgrade the z/OS operating system.
- Install, maintain, and upgrade Db2 for z/OS and related IBM Z products.
- Support and manage ISV products from vendors such as IBM and Computer Associates (CA).
- Provide production support and system reliability.
- Support system programming activities, including configuration, testing, and deployment.
- Ensure optimal system performance and availability.
Key Skills
- Strong experience in Mainframe systems programming.
- Expertise in z/OS, SMP/E, TSO/ISPF, USS, SDSF, and JCL.
- Knowledge of IBM and CA products.
- Strong problem-solving ability and team collaboration skills.
- Willingness to provide out-of-hours support and participate in on-call rotas.
