Overview
Hoist UK is a well-established UK manufacturer and supplier of hoists, cranes and lifting equipment, serving both the industrial and entertainment sectors.
We are looking for a Lifting Equipment Installation Engineer to join our team at our Moreton factory. The role is mainly focused on the installation of new equipment manufactured by Hoist UK, with additional work involving repairs, inspections and maintenance at customer sites across the UK, as well as at our Wirral facility with a company van provided.
Responsibilities
We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with an electrical bias and strong electro-mechanical skills, along with the ability to install steel structures. You should be comfortable working as part of a team, able to manage technical challenges on-site, and have a positive, professional approach to your work.
As a full member of The Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA), Hoist UK is committed to developing its people. We encourage all our engineers to achieve and maintain LEEA qualifications, which we consider essential for the role.
For those starting on the lower end of the salary range, we offer financial incentives to gain these qualifications. More experienced engineers who do not yet hold them will still be supported to achieve them, although without an incentive payment.
Role Requirements
- Electrical bias with strong electro-mechanical skills (essential)
- Experience in the lifting industry (preferred)
- Background in maintenance engineering (essential)
- Full UK driving licence (manual)
- Ability to travel nationwide for installation, inspection and servicing work, with paid overtime (travel plus time on site)
- Willingness to work overtime in line with workload
- Self-motivated, with the ability to resolve technical challenges on-site
- Good interpersonal and reporting skills
- Professional, physically fit, and able to work at height
- Positive “can-do” attitude and strong commitment to health and safety
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Electrical fault finding on electro-mechanical equipment
- Basic industrial 3-phase electrics
- Low voltage control systems
- Ability to follow electrical schematics
- Repair of hoists and overhead cranes
- Inspection of cranes and lifting equipment under LOLER
What We Offer
- Salary starting from £30,000 per year (dependent on skills and experience)
