We are seeking an IT Business Partner – Data Specialism and Major IT Projects, to play a key role in advancing the company’s data and operational management initiatives. This position offers a distinctive opportunity to contribute during a period of significant transformation, allowing the successful candidate to influence both strategic decision-making and the development of IT solutions that support the organisation’s long‑term goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Establishing strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and create customised solutions that are scalable and future‑proof.
- Contributing to the management and development of the company’s data governance provisions, ensuring seamless integration and continuous improvement.
- Ensuring that data products and application services supplied by partners and vendors comply with our governance policies and best practices and seek opportunities for improvement where applicable.
- Providing data‑driven insights to support the company’s business decisions and reporting.
- Effectively supporting team members and business users with a good understanding of applications, business processes and underlying data structures.
- Facilitating access to high‑quality data for both internal teams and external regulators and partners.
- Engaging with Project Managers, Business and technical owners to support operations with new and ongoing projects, helping ensure timely and budget‑friendly delivery, whilst assisting in driving the greatest possible value and impact.
- Working closely with Data Governance team to provide first‑class service.
- Assisting in the advancement of the Business Partner capability beyond just the role and function, sharing ownership with the full BP community with the aim of continuous improvement, and to actively mature the Application Management and Data Governance discipline.
Skills and Experience
- University education in data and/or applications and architecture; or equivalent several years of work experience.
- A strong technical understanding that enables you to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- At least 3 years of experience within the financial sector, preferably in the banking or credit industry.
- Experience in driving change and influencing the development of data and IT solutions.
- Ability to work strategically and operationally - from overall planning to practical implementation.
- Hands‑on experience with SQL and the ability to extract and analyse data.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, as this stakeholder‑focused role involves working with colleagues across multiple European countries and varying levels of seniority.
- Results‑oriented professional with a strong dedication to achieving objectives and delivering high‑quality solutions based on best practices and established principles.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with the ability to maintain robust relationships.
- Experience contributing to or shaping data strategy, with the ability to translate business needs into actionable data initiatives while effectively representing the IT department and ensuring alignment between technical capabilities and organisational goals.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, enabling you to make well‑considered decisions that optimise resource utilisation.
- Passionate about technology and enthusiastic about emerging trends in data and IT.
- Excellent at creating clarity and structure while maintaining the flexibility needed in a dynamic environment.
