- Role Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of assignments and a varied portfolio of personal tax clients
- Manage compliance matters and client queries.
- Providing tax advice and planning.
- Ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations and acting as the main point of contact for the client with HMRC.
- Correspond with clients, tax authorities and third parties daily on a wide variety of personal tax matters
- Prepare client documents, including annual tax returns and ensure compliance with current tax laws.
- Prepare and manage the occasional tax enquiry
- Prepare and manage CGT returns, P11Ds etc.
- Ensure payments are made by the deadline.
- Provide consistent and quality client service including maintaining regular contact with new and existing clients.
- Coordinating with other departments within the company on tax matters.
Skills & Knowledge
- Proven experience in managing a portfolio of private clients in a tax-focused role.
- Proactive approach to problem solving.
- Highly personable and discreet.
- Strong knowledge of UK tax law and HMRC regulations.
- The ability to prepare complex tax returns.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients.
- A decisive thinker with the ability to analyse information quickly.
- Pays attention to detail and takes pride in work produced.
- Proficient digital capability.
- Experience using CCH is preferred, but not essential.
- Academic background with an ATT qualification or other.
- Competitive salary
- Hours 9:00 a. m. - 5.30 p. m. Monday to Thursday and 9:00 – 5:00 p. m. on Friday
- Annual Leave - 21 days plus bank holidays.
In addition, after one complete holiday years’ service, you will be entitled to one day's extra annual holiday for every complete holiday year, up to a maximum of 30 days.
After completion of a success 4-month probationary period the following benefits shall apply;
- Training Agreements to include subsidised exam fees & study days for those wishing to achieve relevant qualifications
- 1 day a week working from home after probationary period, with an addition 10 available for a variety of dates agreed in advance each year
