This role requires understanding all technological aspects of the production chain, from consultation, camera origination, to transfers and data integrity, with a focus on QC and delivery. The operator liaises between production and post teams to ensure processes and workflows are followed, delivering work efficiently to the highest standard.Responsibilities Ingest, QC & delivery of content for broadcast, cinema, social and digital platformsLiaise with production and post to manage upcoming workflows (rushes from shoots, edit preps, conforms, project collects)Assist Editors with tasks such as syncing footage/audio for offline editEncode/Transcode files to specificationScope, waveform & audio monitoringQC of supplied edit and graphics projects to determine suitability for productionCreate standards conversions using AlchemistOverall responsibility for the technical quality of files created for distributionManage the life cycle of assets from ingestion to archiving; help curate physical media/drive library on the production serverEnsure our global way of working is followed and a high level of output is maintained.Reporting lines and key stakeholders The Senior MCR Operator supports the Head of MCR and MCR Supervisor in all operations within the MCR department across Creative Content and Adaption.Requirements Previous experience in an MCR capacity in a post-production facility and/or agencyStrong knowledge of broadcast QC, delivery specifications and DAM/MAM solutionsExcellent understanding and experience with compression, codecs, formats and deliverablesExcellent knowledge of social platforms from creative best practice to latest formats and specsWorking knowledge of Premiere, After Effects and PhotoshopWorking knowledge of Davinci Resolve for prepping assets for edit and gradeAttention to detail and strong organisational skillsUnderstanding of camera codecs, rushes ingest and workflowOn-set experience as a DIT is an advantageAbility to adapt to new methods and technologies, including AI and automationExcellent time management and multitasking abilitiesPositive problem-solving attitude and ability to work under tight deadlinesAbility to support junior team members as requiredWillingness to work on a shift rotation and occasional out-of-hours/on-location supportThe Package 25 days holidayPrivate Medical Care (Bupa)Life Assurance – four times annual salaryPension Scheme – Company contribution matched as detailedEEO and data WPP is an equal opportunity employer and considers applicants for all positions without discrimination.
