What does a Production Operations Director do at WPP Production?
Part‑time role to work 3 × a week. Reporting to the UK Production Operations Director (UK POD), the Production Operations Director (POD) is responsible for driving production excellence and effecting change by defining and implementing optimal production structures and strategies across the Ford business. You will work closely with the UK POD to understand Hogarth's capabilities, offerings and tools and activate them across the Ford account as needed. Using your problem‑solving skills, judgement and strong relationship‑building ability, you will lead, effect and implement change, best practice, and optimal ways of working. This role reports to the UK POD and also receives direction from the Ford EU MD, supporting Project Management, Production and VML account teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Ford EU MD to ensure consistent quality and accountability for financial reporting, including company efficiency reports, global reporting, and accuracy of in‑scope and out‑of‑scope reports supplied by finance.
- Maintain the SOX report to ensure Billings and Revenue teams have clear and up‑to‑date statuses of all open jobs.
- Account Management – work closely with clients to understand new briefs and open Jira tickets to brief the Project Director, ensuring he has everything he needs to brief the wider team.
- Manage finance communications with clients and chase any documentation to kickoff/close a job.
- Manage client expectations of asset delivery and timelines; send assets for client review/approvals, note any amends and brief the Project Manager.
Process
- Maintain process templates for financial processes, vendor set‑ups, reconciliations, etc., supporting adherence to processes.
- Assist and see through new vendor/client set‑ups as required.
Requirements
- A solid background in and relevant experience gained in an advertising environment, either in an agency, independent production company/studio, or an in‑house production team.
- A proactive team player and a leader.
- Excellent administrative skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
