Procedural 2D Supervisor – Hogarth
Procedural 2D Supervisor role at Hogarth – a global content production company part of WPP.

Work Environment

Department
VFX delivers animated characters, product configurators, and digital twins. The department includes modellers, animators, lighters, pipeline developers, and producers supporting global and local client needs.
Role Overview
Procedural supervisors oversee the creation and development of procedural conventions for 2D CGI using code rather than manual effort. Work closely with Python developers to define procedural specifications that generate and control 2D files.
Reporting
Reports to the Global Director of VFX and works closely with all global CGI/VFX teams.
Responsibilities
- Define and build procedural systems for scene files, providing tools for manual and bulk adjustments.
- Design colour systems preserving colour and view luts, with experience in OCIO.
- Maintain editorial consistency and scale for animation and iteration geometry, with experience in OTIO.
- Collaborate with Python developers to establish specifications covering compositing fundamentals, colour, animation, render, and editorial processes.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of Nuke with skills in roto, paint, compositing, colour, and editorial.
- Experience with Da Vinci Resolve, Premiere, Photoshop, and After Effects.
- Extensive experience in 2D pipelines.
- Proficiency in Python scripting for procedural tools and pipeline integration.
- Ability to communicate technical requirements to Python developers and other technical teams.
