What does a Senior Colourist do at Hogarth?
We are a busy, creative post-production facility in the heart of Soho, London, working with leading brands, agencies, and filmmakers to deliver high-quality commercial content. With a collaborative in-house team and a strong client-focused approach, we pride ourselves on excellence, creativity, and technical expertise.
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Colourist to join our team. Based in our Soho office, the role requires an expert in commercial colour grading, with extensive client-facing experience and a strong understanding of modern colour workflows. You will primarily work on Baselight, with DaVinci Resolve experience considered a strong bonus.
Alongside your technical and creative expertise, you will play a key role in developing client relationships and driving new business opportunities. This position requires not only first-class grading ability, but also a keen commercial mindset and proven ability to attract and retain clients.
Reporting lines and key stakeholders:
This role reports to the Head of Colour Grading.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality colour grades for commercials across a diverse range of clients.
- Operate primarily on Baselight, with additional support across DaVinci Resolve where required.
- Work collaboratively with directors, DPs, agencies, and clients in supervised sessions, providing creative and technical input.
- Ensure efficient colour workflows, from ingest to delivery, across multiple formats and platforms.
- Perform rendering, basic compositing, and conforming tasks as needed.
- Stay up to date with new colour technologies, workflows, and tools, with a willingness to adapt and learn.
- Actively contribute to business development by building strong client relationships, seeking new opportunities, and helping to bring new work into the facility.
- Collaborate with producers, editors, and other post-production departments to maintain seamless project flow.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Colourist in a post-production environment, with a strong commercial portfolio.
- Expert knowledge of Baselight (essential).
- Working knowledge of DaVinci Resolve (desirable).
- Excellent client-facing skills, with the ability to manage creative sessions confidently and diplomatically.
- Strong understanding of colour pipelines, HDR workflows, and delivery formats.
- Ability to troubleshoot and provide workflow solutions in fast-paced environments.
- Experience with basic compositing and conforming.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to generate and maintain client relationships, with a proactive approach to bringing in new business.
