The predicted salary is between 60000 - 80000 £ per year.

The global Pricing team provides support to all Hogan Lovells lawyers. This includes developing strategies for and executing on RFP responses and rate negotiations, providing advice to lawyers, developing AFAs, scenario and performance modelling, supporting responses for matter pricing, and performing special projects that maximise revenue and profitability.

Working Hours: 35 hours per week, 9:30am to 5:30pm, but additional hours may be required. We are happy to consider agile and flexible working patterns. Our approach to hybrid working allows for up to 40% of time working from home and 60% working in the office.

The Senior Manager, Strategic Pricing works with Hogan Lovells lawyers and business teams to develop innovative pricing solutions that support firm objectives while strengthening and growing client relationships. Specific duties or responsibilities may be reviewed from time to time to reflect changes in personnel and management structure, staff location or services. All members of the firm participate in our Responsible Business program.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement pricing strategies for complex matters, client proposals, RFP responses, panel appointments (and re-appointments), and strategic client agreements.
  • Create financial models, analyses, and pricing scenarios to support business and client objectives.
  • Review, evaluate, and classify large volume of incoming project work and assign to appropriate team members.
  • Review and evaluate client contracts, RFPs, and OCGs and make accompanying revisions and recommendations.
  • Lead complex client renegotiation projects in collaboration with responsible partners.
  • Develop and evaluate alternative fee arrangements (AFAs), including fixed fees, capped fees, blended rates, retainers, and other creative pricing structures.
  • Leverage our technology solutions and processes, including new A.I. tools and databases to develop matter pricing and customised fee estimates for pitches and RFP responses.
  • Work with partners and business teams by providing strategic pricing advice and commercial recommendations on a wide range of matters and projects.
  • Participate in process improvement projects focused on operational efficiency, reporting capabilities, and overall service delivery.
  • Manage, mentor, and support (junior) team members in responding to partner and client requests. This role will have two direct reports in the London office.

This role requires strong business acumen, analytical and project management capabilities, excellent communication skills, and experience supporting complex pricing strategies and commercial negotiations.

Qualifications & Training
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a professional services or corporate environment.
  • Working knowledge of databases and reporting best practices.
  • Ability to align behind and be a part of a global team with shared vision and approaches for pricing, negotiations, revenue creation, and other areas requisite to the role.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with lawyers, professional level business services employees, and peers.
  • Experience with leading cross-practice and multi-jurisdictional proposals or similar complex projects.
  • Strong organisational and management skills and an ability to prioritise and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working independently, as well as within cross-functional teams, in a collaborative, professional environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
