The Paralegal Coordinator is a valued member of the Litigation, Arbitration, and Employment (LAE) Practice Group providing support to lawyers during the entire litigation process from the initial information-gathering stage through discovery and trial, and ending with careful archival of case material. Subject to the supervision of the attorney(s) responsible for the matter, the Paralegal Coordinator may assist in such tasks as correspondence and discovery, hearings and trials, administrative proceedings, briefs, and settlements. They will also play a significant role in the retrieval, review and production of documents pursuant to government agency investigations.
JOB DESCRIPTION
LEGAL PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Work Plan Management: Design work plans, allocate tasks, track progress

Case Administration: Organize/set up calls, circulate agendas, create contact directories

Deadline management: Provide charts and reminders

Reporting: Provide and update charts for internet reporting to senior management and finance

Data Management: Establish, structure, and maintain databases to allow easy access
GENERAL LITIGATION

Manage multiple active legal matters
-
Coordinate document retrieval, review, organization, and production

Maintain case pleadings, correspondence, discovery, and research
-
Maintain document, transcript and work product databases
-
Assist with finalizing briefs or motions, exhibits, subpoenas, discovery requests, and responses

Organize and prepare exhibit lists and/or privilege logs

Manage case calendar

Correspond with clients, counsel, court clerks, expert witnesses, and/or vendors

Assist with trial site preparation and attend trials

Cite-check briefs and memoranda

Perform Lexis and Westlaw legal research

Perform PACER, Courtlink, and ECF docket management tasks

Meet the annual billable hours requirement of a minimum of 1,650 hours

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise temporary staff and paralegals, as needed

Coordinate work with outside document/litigation vendors, including adherence to strict deadline
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED SKILLS

Strong knowledge of litigation support databases, i.e., Concordance, Relativity, and LiveNote, Microsoft Suite

Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational and communication (oral and written) skills

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, with or without direct supervision, and coordinate multiple projects

Flexibility for overtime and willing to travel

Project management and cite checking and \”blue book\” skills are preferred
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Five (5) to seven (7)+ years of litigation paralegal experience preferred

Large law firm experience desirable

Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Paralegal certificate preferred
HOURS
Core hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., including one hour for lunch, with the flexibility to work overtime as needed.
The annualized salary range for this position is $106,000 to $115,000, depending on the candidate\’s overall experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
