We have a well-established global Marketing and Business Development (M&BD) team which supports the firm on a wide range of business development, client relationship management and reputational activities. The team operates across several key areas including Clients and Sectors covering Sector M&BD (where this role sits) and Client Development; Practice M&BD; Communications, which comprises Public Relations, Brand, Design, Events, Content and Digital; Operations and Systems, which manages strategic global pitches and operations; and Client and Market Solutions, a team dedicated to managing and driving forward firm-wide profile building initiatives and strategic growth opportunities.
Working Hours: 35 hours per week, 9:30am to 5:30pm but additional hours may be required. We are happy to consider agile and flexible working patterns. Our approach to hybrid working allows for up to 40% of time working from home and 60% working in the office.
Role Overview: We need a self-motivated and enthusiastic M&BD Senior Adviser to support on M&BD activities for the Financial Institutions Sector, specifically the Digital Assets and Blockchain (DAB) and FinTech practices and Financial Services practice areas (including support to the Hogan Lovells Consulting team). This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a supportive and close-knit team, operating across a broad remit across new and emerging markets.
You will play a critical role in supporting client development and profile raising initiatives globally, to ensure we:
- Deliver on the profile raising initiatives and objectives laid out in the FIS, DAB, FinTech and Financial Services business plans.
- Maximise our opportunities to grow our revenues from existing and prospective clients across the sector.
- Raise the firm’s profile and position within our key markets.
- Leverage and coordinate our people, knowledge and resources in an effective and efficient manner.
The role will encompass the full range of M&BD activities including: pitching, producing credentials and other marketing collateral; client targeting and cross-selling; client / sector and competitor analysis; and profile raising through marketing campaigns including events, communications and directory and awards submissions.
This candidate will work closely with other members of our global M&BD team to ensure that global M&BD programmes support the firm and sector priorities.
Key Responsibilities: Specific duties or responsibilities may be reviewed from time to time to reflect changes in personnel and management structure, staff location or services. All members of the firm participate in our Responsible Business program.
- BD Planning and Analysis: Supporting the global sector and practice leads on the formulation and execution of time bound, objective-driven integrated campaigns and supporting on business development plans.
- Pitching, Targeting and New Business Generation: Leading responses to RFPs, customised pitches, and business development presentations across the DAB, FinTech and Financial Services Practice areas, coordinating with colleagues at all levels.
- Client Targeting and Development: Supporting on the development and delivery of client targeting initiatives and analysis.
- Events, Marketing Campaigns, Thought Leadership and Profile Raising: Leading cross-practice specific events for FIS clients, showcasing the firm's work on FinTech, InsurTech and Digital Assets.
- Internal Communication and Knowledge Sharing: Ensuring that there is an efficient framework for internal reporting and communication of M&BD activities and successes.
- Infrastructure and Marketing Systems: Collating and maintaining matter information for pitches / proposals, credentials, intranet / web content, etc.
- Wider BD Projects: Contributing to the wider business development effort, which will include participating in specific firm-wide BD initiatives and projects as required.
Skills & Experience:
- Essential: Previous experience of working in a marketing and business development role in a professional services firm.
- Desired: Prior knowledge and experience of working in a law firm and / or exposure to the financial services sector would be advantageous.
