Department: Corporate and Finance (Corporate Insurance). Office location: London. Time type: Full time. Working Hours: 35 hours per week, 9:30am to 5:30pm; additional hours may be required. Department Description: Corporate Insurance: We advise on Europe-wide and country-specific issues in corporate transactions within the insurance industry. Our lawyers work on deals of all forms and sizes, including public and private M&A, Part VII transfers, cross-border deals, and portfolio acquisitions, as well as specialist transactions such as renewal rights and reinsurance arrangements. We advise insurance companies and boards on corporate governance matters, listed company issues and equity capital markets transactions. We cover life and general insurance, Lloyd’s of London, and run-off and consolidation businesses. We have experience in InsurTech and collaborations in this space. The team is supported by extensive insurance industry experience to assist with due diligence and navigating regulatory processes. Our offering adapts with industry changes, focusing on technology, data protection, cyber risk, healthcare regulation and pensions, sanctions, and related issues. We focus on technological developments relevant to distribution and new technologies, cross-border regulatory issues, and other evolving topics.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
- Technical Ability: Understands legal principles of own practice area, with working knowledge of related areas; may have project management responsibility to ensure timely delivery to high-quality standards; stays aware of legal developments and attends relevant training.
- Client Focus: Builds good working relationships with clients; understands client sector risks and opportunities; works to develop and strengthen new client relationships.
- Team Work and Interpersonal Skills: Serves as a resource to others, shares knowledge; maintains strong relationships with senior colleagues.

Person Specification: We have an opening for a first-rate Corporate Insurance lawyer. Experience at a top-tier firm is preferred. Essential: strong academic background (minimum 2.1), excellent written communication and drafting skills; outstanding technical skills; ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues and work well in a team.
