The asset finance group at Hogan Lovells is involved in international transactional work involving the financing and leasing of aircraft, shipping, rolling stock and other equipment. The work is highly varied with a mixture of financing transactions ranging from secured bank loans through to structured finance transactions such as securitisation. Clients include major banks, leasing companies, airlines and other corporates. The work is exacting - working to tight time deadlines but providing a high-quality service.

Our asset finance lawyers are much in demand in the Banking group within which we sit because of their versatility. They can turn their hands to any form of structured finance be it aircraft finance, shipping finance, rolling stock finance, receivables financing, acquisition finance or property finance. In this way they have good variety in their work.

Working Hours

35 hours per week, 9:30am to 5:30pm but additional hours may be required. We are happy to consider agile and flexible working patterns. Our approach to hybrid working allows for up to 40% of time working from home and 60% working in the office, please contact a member of the recruitment team to discuss further.

  • Possesses good working knowledge and understanding of the legal principles associated with the scope of work outlined above; proactively develops this knowledge further.

  • Ability to lead transactions, as appropriate and depending on their complexity, reporting directly to the supervising partner.

Skills & Experience

We have an opening for a first-rate Asset Finance lawyer. It is essential that the candidate has a strong academic background with excellent written communication and drafting skills. The successful candidate will also have outstanding technical skills, together with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues and work well in a team. The ideal candidate will have between three and seven years post qualification experience (or equivalent experience).
