Join a dealership with heritage, and help shape its future. For generations, we’ve been trusted in Henley-on-Thames and beyond to deliver expertise, integrity, and genuine customer care. Now, as we enter an exciting growth phase, we’re looking for Acquisitions & Stock Controller – Performance & Prestige Cars to help us double our sales volume and profit, predominantly focusing on three iconic enthusiast brands: Lotus, Mercedes AMG, and Toyota GR.
This isn’t an old-fashioned car buying role. Our customers value honesty, expertise, and long-term relationships - and we’re looking for someone who shares those values. With an established local customer base, £1M of stock investment, a strong commission sales programme, and a comprehensive marketing plan behind you, you’ll have all the tools to succeed.
What you’ll do:
- Source and secure the right cars for Hofmann’s - from auctions, direct purchase opportunities, part-exchanges, Sale-or-Return as well as exploring creative new avenues.
- Appraise vehicles with a calm, commercial eye, balancing condition, provenance, preparation needs and margin.
- Keep our incoming stock moving: organising collections, coordinating preparation, and removing blockers to minimise time-to-market.
- Own the detail behind every car - keys, documents, history and vehicle files - so nothing is missing when it matters.
- Work closely with sales, workshop and suppliers to ensure each vehicle meets our retail preparation standard before it goes live.
- Support a disciplined pricing approach, helping us stay competitive while protecting quality and value.
- Uphold a well-considered product lifecycle policy.
- Calm, well-mannered and reliable - able to work with suppliers and colleagues in a professional, respectful way.
- A team player who values integrity, transparency and doing things properly.
What we offer:
- Competitive basic salary + commission.
- The chance to deal in some of the most exciting performance cars in the market.
- Access to a loyal, established customer base in Henley and the surrounding area.
- Strong backing: experienced management, marketing support, and sales administration team.
- A values-driven culture built on honesty, teamwork, and long-term progression.
How to apply:
Send us your CV and a short note about why you’d be a great fit for this role. No prior motor trade experience? No problem - if you’re driven, personable, and ready to grow with us, we’d love to hear from you.
