Hodgson Academy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our Learning Support team. This is a rewarding and varied role where you will work alongside teachers and specialist staff to support the academic, personal and social development of students — including those with SEND and additional learning needs. You will help students stay engaged, build confidence and make meaningful progress, playing a vital part in creating an inclusive environment where every young person can flourish.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting individual pupils or small groups with structured learning activities
  • Building positive, trusting relationships that help students grow in confidence
  • Monitoring pupils’ personal, social and emotional needs and feeding back to teachers
  • Contributing to the development and review of individual learning targets
  • Providing support in English, maths and science, with flexibility to work across other subjects
  • Helping create and use learning resources, including ICT tools
  • Supporting behaviour routines to maintain a calm, purposeful classroom
  • Working collaboratively with parents, carers and external agencies
  • Assisting with specific care or medical needs (training provided)
  • Supporting Homework Club and contributing to co‑curricular activities
