Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Commercial Gas Engineer - HVAC role based in Greater Manchester. The role involves installing, servicing, and maintaining commercial gas heating systems, boilers, and associated HVAC plant across a range of client sites. Daily tasks include fault-finding, performing planned preventative maintenance, completing reactive repairs, and ensuring systems operate safely and efficiently in line with regulations. The Commercial Gas Engineer will work closely with the wider engineering team to support project delivery, assist with commissioning of new installations, and provide technical input on upgrades and improvements. The role also includes accurate completion of documentation, adherence to health and safety policies, and professional communication with clients and colleagues.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in commercial gas systems, including LPG and related safety standards.
- Proficiency in central heating systems, including installation, diagnostics, and optimization for efficiency.
- Solid plumbing skills for commercial environments, including pipework, fittings, and system integration.
- Background in building maintenance with a focus on HVAC plant and associated building services.
- Proven maintenance and repair skills for boilers, burners, pumps, and control systems.
- Relevant gas qualifications (e.g., current Gas Safe registration with appropriate commercial categories).
- Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites across the region.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturer documentation.
- Strong commitment to health and safety, risk assessment, and safe systems of work.
- Effective communication skills, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
