The Senior Corporate Strategist will play an integral role in supporting the development and delivery of the Bank’s strategic agenda, combining rigorous analysis, market insight and external engagement to inform decision making and drive execution.
The role holder plays a pivotal part in ensuring the Bank remains connected to market developments, investor sentiment and industry innovation while aligning growth ambitions with capital, risk appetite and regulatory constraints.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in corporate strategy (Banking/Financial Services)
- Extensive experience in strategy consulting
- Experience working with Senior Management Teams
- Experience in financial planning
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of the Bank’s corporate strategy and multi-year plan.
Lead discrete strategy workstreams (e. g. new markets, product evolution, cost transformation).
- Translate strategic priorities into deliverable initiatives and implementation roadmaps
- Build and maintain a strong external network across industry peers, advisors and market participants.
Actively gather market intelligence and insight through forums, industry events and direct engagement
- Conduct market, competitor and customer analysis across priority segments. Track macroeconomics, regulatory and funding environment developments
- Support identification and evaluation of new products, customer segments, strategic partnerships, M&A and portfolio opportunities
- Develop financial models to assess strategy scenarios, investment cases and portfolio decisions.
Partner with Finance and Treasury to ensure alignment with future planning and balance sheet strategy.
Act as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders across the business.
Prepare high quality materials for Exco and Board level discussions.
- Influence decision making through clear, insight-led recommendations
- Monitoring of external benchmarking for Hodge and reporting KPI’s for the Ex Co & Board
- Support wider business deliverables as required
