The Financial Planning and Analysis Senior Manager will play an integral role in supporting the delivery of the Bank’s strategy.

The role holder will work closely with the business to embed strategic levers into annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, articulating the key messages to the Board and Executive team. You will become a trusted advisor to the business using strong analytical and interpersonal skills to provide relevant and insightful analysis, adding value and assisting in decision making.

  • Business partnering roles
  • Budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
  • Working with senior management teams

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of the annual budget and quarterly planning forecasts, engaging with the business to design and embed proposed strategies, challenging on assumptions where required.
  • Articulating the plan to Board and Exco in the form of dynamic presentations that illustrate key business issues, insights and recommendations.
  • Tracking actual performance vs plan, analysing deviations to identify root causes and presenting corrective or mitigating actions to the business.
  • Financial appraisal of business-wide pricing strategies including presenting recommendations at Pricing Committee.
  • Preparing and presenting monthly financial reports for the Bank’s senior management team and wider stakeholders, highlighting key trends, insights, risks and opportunities.
  • Acting as a strategic partner to the senior management team, providing recommendations and the ‘so what’ implications to potential future strategies.
  • Working across the business to understand key developments in the market place and how they may impact the Bank’s roadmap for delivery and associated budget/forecast.
  • Providing financial analysis and insights to support decision making on projects, investments and operational issues.
  • Monitoring of external benchmarking for Hodge and reporting KPI’s for the ExCo & Board.
  • Supporting finance and wider business deliverables as required.
  • Establishing, maintaining and reviewing operating policies and job cards (systems of internal control) to ensure that they are sufficiently robust to adequately safeguard the Group’s assets and where weaknesses are identified ensure remedial action is taken in a timely manner.
  • Being accountable for identifying, evaluating and managing all significant risk within areas of responsibility and where appropriate report on risk identified elsewhere in the Group.
  • Developing and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of Compliance & Risk regulatory and legislative information related to Group products and services (e.g. PRA/FCA rules, Data Protection, Money Laundering, etc.), as advised by line management.
  • Ensuring company policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
  • Supporting the risk culture of the organisation by taking personal responsibility for identifying and managing risks in everything you do.
