What you'll do
- Conduct thorough inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments and testing equipment to assess product quality and functionality.
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate records of quality control activities, ensuring traceability and accountability.
- Collaborate with production teams to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance product quality.
- Participate in root cause analysis for non-conformance issues, providing insights and recommendations for process enhancements.
- Assist in the development and implementation of quality assurance protocols and procedures to streamline operations.
- Conduct audits of manufacturing processes to ensure adherence to established quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality control practices and the importance of maintaining high standards.
- Support the Quality Assurance Manager in preparing for external audits and inspections by regulatory bodies.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in quality inspection techniques to continually improve practices.
- Contribute to a culture of quality and safety within the organization, promoting awareness and accountability among team members.
- Engage in continuous professional development to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to quality inspection and assurance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a quality inspection role, preferably within a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of quality control methodologies, tools, and techniques, including ISO standards and Six Sigma principles.
- Proficiency in using measurement and testing equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
Nice to have
- Experience in the fire safety or related industry is a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with quality management software and data analysis tools.
- Certification in quality control or assurance, such as CQI or CQA, is desirable.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements specific to fire safety products and manufacturing processes.
