Hobson Prior is seeking an Animal Technician to join a dynamic team in London. In this role, you will support research activities by conducting experiments with mice, maintaining animal colonies, and assisting with laboratory tasks. This position is ideal for someone passionate about contributing to scientific advancements in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:
- Perform experiments and procedures on mice, ensuring accuracy and adherence to ethical standards.
- Collect and record data accurately in both written and electronic formats.
- Support the breeding and genotyping of mouse colonies.
- Assist with maintaining laboratory spaces and equipment.
- Manage laboratory supplies, including ordering and restocking consumables.
- Ensure tasks are completed within set timelines and budgets.
Key Skills and Requirements:
- Knowledge or experience working with laboratory animals, particularly mice.
- Understanding of basic biological sciences (e.g., A-levels or equivalent qualifications).
- Familiarity with procedures such as drug administration, tissue collection, and molecular analysis.
- Ability to manage animal stocks, including breeding and genotyping.
- Strong organizational skills for stock management and shipment coordination.
- Experience with or willingness to learn techniques like ocular imaging, visual behavior tests, and electroretinography (ERG).
- Holding a Home Office-approved animal license (PIL A, B, or C) is preferred but not mandatory.
