The client is a leading manufacturer of access hardware parts and applications for various industry sectors. They are recruiting for a Design Engineer to join their team in Redditch. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and creation of 2D & 3D product and application drawings. Salary - Β£30,000 to Β£34,000 per annum.
Key responsibilities and duties:
- To design and create innovative new product concepts and finalised designs.
- Carry out design changes to existing products as directed by the engineering drawings.
- Work closely with customers and suppliers to bring products to life.
- Support the sales department with initial design concepts.
- Support the production department to ensure that parts go together smoothly and efficiently.
- Support the quality department with product improvements.
- Answer all customer enquiries, via email, internet calls, or phone calls in a timely manner.
- Assist and drive cost reduction projects to achieve targets set by the engineering manager.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Must have experience of 3D & 2D CAD, Solidworks would be highly beneficial.
- Basic knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerances.
- Ability to carry out tolerance stacks.
- Ability to work to agreed timescales.
- Have an understanding of diecast, moulded, pressed and machined parts.
- Ability to work in a team.
- A good eye for detail and able to multi-task effectively.
- Good time management.
This is an excellent opportunity for a CAD Designer or CAD Engineer. Working hours - Monday to Thursday 7am to 5.15pm. Friday off. The role is based in Redditch so is easily commutable from Birmingham, Worcester, Bromsgrove, Solihull, Alcester, Dudley, Droitwich, West Bromwich, Kidderminster.
