As a General Assistant at Hobbycraft you will support the Store Management Team to deliver all aspects of the store operation, initiatives and performance. Delivering an inviting, inspirational and truly customer‑focused experience is key to our continued success. You will demonstrate our brand values in every aspect of your work.

Areas of Responsibility
- Brand ambassador – passionately represent the Hobbycraft brand and embrace change positively.
- Teamwork – build great working relationships with the team, treating individuals fairly and with respect at all times and adhering to equality, diversity, inclusion and belonging policy.
- Customer Service – deliver outstanding customer service, putting the customer at the heart of everything you do, sharing your passion and knowledge of craft.
- Change – recognise change and approach it in a positive, proactive way.
- Policies and Procedures – comply with all Company policies and Health and Safety Regulations.
- Shop Floor – deliver excellent standards, keep displays clean, full and tidy, and assist in changing stock displays.
- Cash Handling – operate the till and accurately handle cash, credit/debit card and gift‑card transactions.
- Click & Collect – assist with the Click and Collect process.
- Stock Control – minimise stock loss, follow tagging processes and assist with shelving.
- Workshops – may be required to host various craft workshops.
Experience and Skills
- Retail (or similar) experience is desirable.
- Confident communicator capable of delivering outstanding customer service.
- Passion for craft and willingness to share knowledge.
- Selling skills are advantageous.
- Experience with stock replenishment.
- Cash handling experience.
- Comfortable operating within guidelines and policies.
- Ability to work at pace and with accuracy.
- High standards, adaptability and self‑motivation.
- Confidence in demonstrating a craft to a high standard.
