About The Role

We have enjoyed strong growth in recent years and currently have iconic brands in our portfolio including Phase Eight, Whistles and Hobbs and our luxury Homewares brand Inside Story. We are not stopping there, we have big plans for the next three years within our current brands and beyond.

We are looking for a Designer to lead the design and product handwriting of our Phase Eight Knitwear & Jersey Collection. Our Design team are at the core of our business, creating the mood, colour palette, prints and key shapes of our collection each season that offer our Phase Eight customer a point of difference. The Knitwear & Jersey Designer will spearhead the creative handwriting and design of our collections, maintaining and building upon the heritage and success of our product handwriting and striving to deliver contemporary newness.

What you’ll do

  • Working in close partnership with our Head of Design, Buying and Merchandising teams to build collections which are both creative and commercial.
  • Spearhead sketch and swatch meetings with a keen awareness of current and previous product performance.
  • Research seasonal themes and inspirations, sketch the collection and present at design development meetings to the Head of Design.
  • Build the moodboards and colour palettes and lead the print brief at the start of each season, meeting the design brief as set by our Head of Design.
  • Create technical packs for selected designs with specification sheets.

Who you’ll be

  • Highly organised, with strong time management and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • A collaborative team player who’s keen to learn and take direction.
  • Confident using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and PowerPoint.
  • Experienced in print design, with a strong portfolio that demonstrates creativity and attention to detail.
  • Commercially aware, with a good understanding of customer needs and the wider fashion market.
  • Proactive, hands-on and results-focused, with a positive and professional approach.
  • A clear communicator who can share ideas and insights effectively.
  • Skilled in hand drawing and painting, with a passion for original design.
