Are you ready to take the next step in your rural surveying career? Hobbs Parker are a well-established multi-disciplinary firm of Chartered Surveyors, Planners, Auctioneers and Estate Agents based in Ashford, Kent. We operate one of the largest livestock markets in the South East, in addition to a successful car auction business and well-established local estate and letting agency. You will act as an ambassador for the firm, promoting its services when opportunities arise.

We are looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic graduate or recently qualified surveyor to join our dynamic team of chartered surveyors based in Ashford, Kent. We are fortunate as a firm to undertake a variety of instructions and we’re keen to help you develop your career path through our varied workload.

The Role

You will get involved in all aspects of rural surveying and a diverse range of instructions and have the opportunity to develop your skills in:

  • Valuation – you will primarily work alongside our valuation team assisting with the valuation of rural and agricultural property for a variety of purposes
  • Agricultural tenancies – assisting with lease renewals, rent reviews and lettings.
  • Compulsory purchase and compensation – assisting with works involving utilities and infrastructure schemes.
  • Environmental schemes – advising clients on the latest environmental and grant schemes and assisting with applications.
  • Planning – opportunities to work alongside our team of planning consultants
  • Development- there may be opportunities to work alongside our successful development consultancy
  • Renewables- there may be opportunities to assist with negotiations through to option and lease agreements

About You

You will be a graduate working towards your APC or a recently qualified surveyor (up to 2 years post qualification experience) with a passion for rural property and a drive to build client relationships and contribute towards the growth and success of the surveying team. A basic knowledge of farming is advantageous.

There is scope within the business to grow and develop your career for the longer term. The role will involve travel and therefore a full driving licence and own vehicle is essential.
