We are looking for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join HOBART UK and HOBART Service on a full-time, fixed-term contract. This is a key role responsible for shaping and delivering a fit-for-purpose Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) strategy across the business.
Fixed term: 6 to 12 months Hybrid role, based at Southgate Way, Peterborough Full-time.
As Health & Safety Manager, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our people, partners and customers operate in a safe, compliant and continuously improving environment. You’ll lead the development and execution of our HSE strategy, embedding a strong safety culture while supporting operational excellence across office, manufacturing and field-based teams.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Developing, implementing and continuously improving the Health & Safety Management System
- Ensuring full compliance with UK H&S legislation and industry best practice
- Maintaining and improving ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, aligned within the ISO 9001 framework
- Leading audits, inspections and assurance programmes across the business
- Measuring, analysing and reporting HSE performance against internal and external benchmarks
- Championing a Safety-First culture across all departments
- Advising on safe systems of work, risk assessments and method statements
- Supporting and delivering HSE training, inductions, toolbox talks and incident investigations
- Acting as the primary HSE contact for regulators, local authorities and insurers
- Representing HOBART UK at ITW EU divisional and governance forums
- Supporting contractor schemes, external accreditations and commercial submissions
- Managing HSE eLearning platforms and compliance tracking
- Conducting site visits, audits and training activities as required
This is a hybrid role combining office-based work with regular site visits.
Who We’d Love to Speak to
We’d love to speak to you if you have:
- A degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health or a related discipline
- NEBOSH Diploma or IOSH Level 6 Diploma in OSH Leadership
- Proven H&S experience within manufacturing, engineering or similar environments
- Strong working knowledge of UK H&S legislation
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify hazards and implement controls
- Confident communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
- A full UK driving licence
- Experience with permitting processes (advantageous)
