About the role
We have a new opportunity for a motivated BIM Technician to join our team in Cardiff or Bristol. At Hoare Lea, BIM isn’t just about modelling; it’s a driver of innovation, collaboration, and smarter decision-making. Our BIM community sits at the heart of our digital strategy, shaping how we use information to design buildings that perform beautifully and sustainably.
You’ll be part of a supportive, dynamic environment where creativity and precision come together, and where your ideas can make a real difference. You’ll work on a diverse range of projects across sectors such as Healthcare, Education, Residential, and Commercial, supported by both your local engineering team and our national BIM & Digital Engineering community.
In this role, you can expect to:
- Deliver accurate, data-rich 3D models and 2D outputs using Autodesk Revit.
- Set up and manage MEP models, ensuring clarity, quality, and efficiency.
- Coordinate design information across disciplines, identifying and resolving clashes.
- Review external models and document changes clearly.
- Share your knowledge with team members and contribute to internal knowledge sharing initiatives.
- Apply automation tools such as Dynamo, DiRoots, and RF Tools to enhance workflows.
- Support the use of CDE platforms (including BIM 360 / ACC) and information management processes.

About you
You’re a detail-oriented and collaborative technician who enjoys solving problems and exploring new tools. You take pride in your work and understand how well-structured information supports better design, delivery, and performance.
You’ll bring:
- Familiarity with clash detection, CDE workflows, and automation tools.
- The ability to manage modelling responsibilities independently.
- Familiarity with the BS EN ISO 19650 suite of standards.
- A willingness to contribute ideas, improve processes, and support others.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Solibri, and Microsoft Excel.
- An interest in automation or visual programming (Dynamo).
