We have a brand-new opportunity for a Principal or Associate Public Health Engineer to join our team based in our Bournemouth or Reading offices. Bournemouth: we have maintained an office on the south coast for more than 45 years, building significant building services expertise and creating long-term relationships both locally and further afield. Reading: This is a thriving town that is seeing exponential growth across many sectors. We are supporting transformational and sustainable change with major projects, such as Station Hill and many others.

As a Principal or Associate Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering designs for a range of project types and sizes. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of engineers and consultants delivering design solutions of the highest standard for our clients, while securing repeat and new business opportunities. A critical aspect of this role is to support and develop a team of technically competent, collaborative, and highly engaged team members.

In this key and varied role, you can expect to:

  • Be responsible for the day-to-day technical delivery of public health design services for multi-disciplinary projects across a number of building sectors.
  • Lead the development of initial strategic concepts for projects ensuring solutions are appropriate for the brief and regulatory standards.
  • Interact regularly with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a communicative, collaborative and timely approach to delivery.
  • This is a client-facing role, so you will be attending project meetings and disseminating/translating the brief within the project team.
  • Work with the team leader to help monitor fee expenditure, resources and work delivered.
  • Mentor and support our ‘next gen’ professionals, including apprentices and graduates.

To be successful in this role you’ll need:

  • Proven experience working as a Public Health Engineer or closely related role, with a track record delivering on a variety of complex projects.
  • Understanding of all drainage services including rainwater and domestic water services required.
  • Use of relevant software/tools such as Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Self-awareness, an open mind, and a spirit of generosity.
  • Conversant with relevant British Standards.
  • Consultancy experience.
