About the role
We have a brand-new opportunity for a Principal or Associate Public Health Engineer to join our team based in our Bournemouth or Reading offices.
Bournemouth: we have maintained an office on the south coast for more than years, building significant building services expertise and creating long-term relationships both locally and further afield.
Reading: This is a thriving town that is seeing an exponential growth across many sectors. We are supporting transformational and sustainable change with major projects, such as Station Hill and many others. We are connecting with like-minded businesses and professionals in the area.

As a Principal or Associate Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering designs for a range of project types and sizes. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of engineers and consultants delivering design solutions of the highest standard for our clients, while securing repeat and new business opportunities. A critical aspect of this role is to support and develop a team of technically competent, collaborative, and highly engaged team members.
In this key and varied role, you can expect to:
• Be responsible for the day-to-day technical delivery of public health design services for multi-disciplinary projects across a number of building sectors.
• Lead the development of initial strategic concepts for projects ensuring solutions are appropriate for the brief and regulatory standards.
• Interact regularly with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a communicative, collaborative and timely approach to delivery This is a client-facing role, so you will be attending project meetings and disseminating/translating the brief within the project team.
• Work with the team leader to help monitor fee expenditure, resources and work delivered.
• Mentor and support our ‘next gen’ professionals, including apprentices and graduates.
About you
To be successful in this role you’ll need:
• Proven experience working as a Public Health Engineer or closely related role, with a track record delivering on a variety of complex projects.
• Understanding of all drainage services including rainwater and domestic water services required.
• Use of relevant software/tools such as Revit and AutoCAD.
• Self-awareness, an open mind, and a spirit of generosity.
• Conversant with relevant British Standards.
• Consultancy experience.
