We have a brand-new opportunity for a Principal or Associate Electrical Engineer to join our team based in our Cardiff office and work as part of the largest independent consulting engineering firm of its kind. Cardiff itself is a thriving and dynamic creative capital city with a rich cultural heritage, as well as ambitious future plans in terms of growth and a blueprint to become a carbon-neutral city in the next 10 years.
You will join a talented, dynamic, and diverse team of designers, engineers, and technical specialists with a unique working culture. As a Principal or Associate Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering designs for a range of project types and sizes. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of engineers and consultants delivering design solutions of the highest standard for our clients, while securing repeat and new business opportunities.
A critical aspect of this role is to support and develop a team of technically competent, collaborative, and highly engaged team members. In this key and varied role, you can expect to:
- Be responsible for the day-to-day technical delivery of the electrical design services for multi-disciplinary projects across a number of building sectors.
- Lead the development of initial strategic concepts for projects ensuring solutions are appropriate for the brief and regulatory standards.
- Interact regularly with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a communicative, collaborative and timely approach to delivery.
- Mentor and support our 'next gen' professionals, including apprentices and graduates.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Proven experience working as an Electrical Engineer or in a closely related role, with a track record delivering on a variety of complex projects.
- Experience of modern technical delivery processes, and use of relevant software/tools such as BIM, Revit, Electrical OM, Dialux and Relux.
- Demonstrable experience working with clients/contractors/architects in a design-oriented/consultant role.
- Self-awareness, an open mind, and a spirit of generosity.
- Experience in supporting others to develop knowledge, skills, and confidence.
